The obligation to notify the AIB about accidents and serious incidents
According to the Danish Government Order no. 301, represented in the Danish CAA's BL 5-40, the commander or possibly the operator of the aircraft, the owner of the aircraft or the Flight Association must, as soon as possible, notify the inspector on duty about any occurred aircrat accident or serious aircraft incident.
With respect to the Danish AIB's investigation, it is important that notification reaches the AIB as soon as possible. Notification must be given the accident investigator on duty on phone +45 3871 1066 to arrange further developments. A phone call will normally have to result in a supplementary written report to the AIB within 8 days.

Information of air traffic incident is given by completing an Air Traffic Incidents Report (ATIR), which must be sent to the Danish AIB as quickly as possible. An ATIR may possibly be delivered at the report office of the destination-aerodrome.
Definitions of aircraft accidents and aircraft incidents, plus examples of those, are shown in the Regulation and in BL 5-40. Please contact the accident investigator on duty in cases of doubts.
Information regarding aircraft accident or serious aircraft incidents is given to the Danish AIB's accident investigator on duty (24 hrs) on phone +45 3871 1066.
If no contact or telephone failure: If contact to the officer on duty is not establisher at the second try, please contact the ATC supervisor on +45 32 48 19 33. Leave your name, telephone number and a message for the officer on duty to the supervisor, whom will contact the AIB. Subsequently the AIB will contact the caller. |
